Walking Boston’s Jazz Trail, An Evening With Living Legends
Boston’s jazz trail can take you many places. From Storyville in Kenmore Square, hosting the greats on a nightly basis, to the Schillinger House on Newbury which would later become the Berklee College of Music. But it undeniably starts at the corner of Mass Ave and Columbus. Here, on the doorstep of The Hi-Hat and within earshot of legendary clubs like Wally’s Cafe, The Savoy, The Wagwam, Big M, Roseland Ballroom and so many others, Boston’s jazz scene exploded and thrived for decades. On November 9 we are honored to celebrate Boston’s rich and diverse jazz heritage with legends who made it so, playing together for the very first time. Featuring Harold Layne on drums, Paul Broadnax on piano and vocals, Billy Thompson on sax, the vocals of Eula Lawrence, and Keala Kaumeheiwa on bass. Curated & hosted by Dave Brophy.
